This book begins with a tragedy. Marty, the main character in the book, looses her husband Clem in a terrible accident. She is pregnant and not sure what to do since her and her husband have just adventured out West. While she is at her husbands funeral she is approached by a man named Clark Davis who makes her an offer she cannot refuse. If she takes care of his little girl Missy, he will support her.
The book follows the lives of Marty and Clark and how they coexist together in a time that is mournful and sad for both. It also shows the blossoming of another love that helps dissolve the pain from their previous experiences. Clark shows Marty how to love God. Marty teaches Clark how to be patient. This book is a great read leaving your uplifted. I definitely recommend.
I am reading the second book in the series now. I will have a review on it next.
